a journey in motherhood

All three of us have come down w/ a cold. Elliot has a runny nose, I have a very sore throat, and Charlie’s hit everywhere. It’s no fun being sick - but hopefully we’ll all be better by Christmas. Poor Elliot has a hard time breathing thru his nose so the pacifier doesn’t work so well…and he hates to have us wipe it. We have to do it quickly before he cries and makes it all worse! I’m glad he’s still not crawling b/c it’s nice to just pull him in bed w/ me in the mornings and lay there for a while longer since we’re not feeling well.

Friday night I went to the annual APU Christmas Concert with my mom while Charlie went to practice & my dad stayed home with Elliot (who was supposed to sleep the whole time but decided playing w/ grandpa was much more fun) It was a great concert and always a fun way to start the season.

Saturday night we all went to the Covina Christmas Parade (once again Elliot was up way past bedtime) but it was worth it! We had a great time even with the big croud watching the floats and bands go by.  Elliot seemed to enjoy watching a lot, he did take a nap in the sling for a while in the middle. It was fun to get all bundled up and be outside in the ‘cold’

Sunday we got our Christmas tree (always at Target) and decorated the house for Christmas. It was fun doing it w/ Elliot, but next year will be even better when he actually understands what is going on. I love our tree - I think it’s one of the best we’ve ever had. We have a tradition of linin up all our ornaments by the year we recieved them and then hanging them on the tree in order. We also watched Elf while we put up all the other decorations.
